General Rules:
The Central States Curly Show will run under the rules set forth in the ABCR Show Rules
Book, current edition. All persons are notified that any misconduct or disobedience
to the judges or show officials by any exhibitors, trainers, or parents shall be
cause for disqualification. In such cases, all entry fees shall be forfeited.
Check In:
Horses for the Central States Curly Show will be allowed on the grounds starting at noon on Friday. Early arrivals are welcome but must be pre-arranged in advance. Your entry packet will be waiting just within the barn for you (friday) or at the show office (Saturday morning). Please park and bring papers listed below to barn to check in BEFORE unloading horses. Show Packets will be provided only after all fees are paid. Exhibitors must check in before unloading horses on show grounds. To speed check in, pay fees in advance and have the following paperwork ready:
- Signed Release and Hold Harmless Agreement (1 for each exhibitor) (download & print)
- Current Negative Coggins for each horse (original, no photocopies)
- Health Certificate for each out of state horse (original, no photocopies)
- Photocopy of each horse's registration papers
Entry Fees:
- The class fee is $6 per class- not to exceed $55 per horse. A flat fee of $55 allows a horse to show all day. Please Note: exhibitors taking advantage of the flat rate must still preregister for classes. Horses that have not been officially entered in a class through the show office will not be judged.
- Entries after June 15 are 20% more. ($7.20 per class, $66 to show all day)
Stalling Information:
Stalls will be available at 12:00 noon on Friday and must be vacated by 12:00 noon on Sunday. Additional days may be arranged privately, at additional charge, with the management of Lucky J Arena.
Stabling Rules:
- Stabling fees are $60.00 per stall for 12 noon Friday through 12 noon Sunday.
- It is mandatory that payment for all applicable stabling fees is received before the horse will be allowed in the barn.
- Stabling fees will be discounted $10 per stall for decorated stalls whose surface is 50% or more covered and which have an added educational display of at least 22” × 28”. There will be prizes for the best decorated stalls. Please read the decorating contest details.
- One bag of bedding included in stall fee. Additional bedding available at $6 per bag. No outside bedding allowed.
- There will be a Barn Manager on the grounds throughout the Fair to assist as needed.
- Trailer/RV hookups available at $30 for the weekend.

Entry Information:
- We require one entry form per horse. This is easiest done on line, or, if you prefer to mail forms via regular mail, please fill out on line and then print out the forms for mailing. If you don't use a computer, forms must be CLEARLY PRINTED and mailed or faxed in.
- Owner must provide registration number and have photocopy of the horse’s registration papers on hand at show. (Horses eligible include: Curly or straight coated horses registered with the American Bashkir Curly Registry and International Curly Horse Organization. Or visibly curly coated horses holding Bureau of Land Management (BLM Mustang) papers or Curly Sporthorse International papers. If you have an unregistered curly coated horse and would like to show- please contact us, registration in the open curly coat registries is affordable and can be done prior to show date. Pending registrations will be accepted if proof can be shown of pending registration.
- Errors or illegible entry forms are the responsibility of the Exhibitor. Two attempts will be made to contact an Exhibitor, after which, illegible entry forms will be discarded.

Refunds:
Please notify us immediately if you will not be competing as entered so that the necessary changes can be made to the program. Requests for refunds will be considered on an individual basis by the show committee. Stalls are not refundable.
Age Specifications:
The age of a horse shall be calculated as actual birthday recorded on registration papers. Unknown birthdates shall be calculated as Jan 1.
Senior rider: 19 and over as of January 1st, 2007
Junior Rider 18 and under as of January 1st, 2007
Leadline: 10 and under as of January 1st, 2007
Stallions:
Stallions must be handled and ridden by senior competitors only while on the grounds.
Sale Horses:
If you are exhibiting a horse that is for sale let the show office know. We will be happy to announce throughout the show that the horse is for sale.
Release & Hold Harmless Agreement:
All competitors MUST have a signed release on file with show office before unloading horse(s) on show grounds. These forms will be collected at check in. Extra forms will be available but minors traveling without a parent or guardian must present release signed in advance by guardian. Download Release Here.
Holding Ring:
- It is the responsibility of the contestant to be prepared to enter the ring when it is his or her turn to do so. Failure to enter promptly when it is your turn in the order of go will result in you losing your place in the class.
- It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to ensure that he/she is wearing the correct number, tack and attire for the class he/she is about to enter. Each horse-handler combination will be assigned its own number. If showing multiple halter horses, it is recommended to wear your number on your hip for easy changing.
- Two minutes after the class has been called to enter the show ring, the gate will be closed and no further horses will be allowed in.
- No refunds will be made for late arrivals to class.
Pets:
Well behaved dogs are permitted in barn area but must be on a leash or crated at all times. Loud, loose, aggressive, or otherwise disruptive dogs are not permitted. NO dogs in main indoor arena building. All dogs MUST wear identification tags.
Improper Equipment:
The Judge, Steward or Show manager has the authority to require the removal or alteration of any piece of equipment which in their opinion does not comply with rules, is unsafe, would give a horse an unfair advantage or which is believed to be inhumane. Judge has discretion and may request bits be dropped and examined.
Responsibility
Neither the American Bashkir Curly Registry, the International Curly Horse Organization, Lucky J Arena, Noblewood Farm, nor any hosting or affiliated group or private party will be responsible for any kind of article of any nature that may be lost, stolen, or destroyed. These parties are not liable for any injury sustained to horses, exhibitors, spectators, or employees.
